How Long Does a Custom Cabinet Project Take? The Complete CustoBinet Process
If you’re planning to build a custom cabinet, “how long will this take?” is probably the question keeping you up at night. The honest answer is: it depends on the scope of work and the materials chosen. However, because CustoBinet operates our own factory in Sungai Petani, we can control the timeline much better than standard contractors. Here is a realistic, phase by phase breakdown of our process at CustoBinet Furniture.
Phase 1: Consultation (1 Week)
Phase 2: On-Site Measurement (1 Week)
Our sales team will visit your home to take precise measurements, and upon confirmation from the customer, an initial deposit need to be made before proceeding the next step. Then, a dedicated Whatsapp group chat will be created with the person in charge throughout the project.
Phase 3: 3D Design & Site Marking (1-2 Week)
A site supervisor will conduct site marking and map out the plug, electrical and plumbing point to ensure it fits the house. Our designer will create a realistic 3D visual of your cabinets, the drawing could be amend only up to 3 changes only.
Phase 4: Final Design & Preparation (2-3 Weeks)
Once the 3D design is approved, a 30% payment will need to be made before proceeding. Our team would advice you to works on the electrical and plumbing right after the site marking is completed. Lastly, we will lock in your material choices and a final jobsheet and bill of material (BOM) will be sent directly to the factory for production.
Phase 5: Cabinet Production (3–4 Weeks)
The production works will begin after the final steps are completed. Your cabinet will be fabricate directly in our own factory using precision machines. The customer will be given the installation dates and coordinated with the customer.
Phase 6: Cabinet Installation & Handover (2-4 Day)
Once the cabinet are ready, our production team will brings them to your house. After the installation is completed, we will hand out the 12 month warranty card and a final 20% payment need to be made before settling completely.
What can push your timeline longer?
Indecision: Changing your mind about a design after factory production has started.
Imported Materials: Special Sintered stones or specific custom hardware may take extra time to ship.
Condo Approvals: If you live in a high-rise, management approvals can sometimes cause initial delays. Also the installment teams may take some time since some building requires any projects to stop at 6 PM minimum.
